Every child is allocated a Key Person who takes lead responsibility for their care and learning and becomes your key contact too.
At drop-off, please share anything that may affect your child—such as illness, an upset or a bad night’s sleep. At collection, we will tell you about their day, including sleep, food and activities.

Your child’s progress
Practitioners carefully observe how children grow, develop and explore their interests. This helps us plan appropriately for each child. Their learning journal records individual learning and development and is updated regularly by the Key Person, with input from parents whenever possible.
Progress check at age two
Your child’s Key Person will review progress and provide a written report focused on three prime areas:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
You will be invited to discuss the report. It can be added to your child’s health record and contribute to the Health Visitor’s development check.
The role of parents
Parents are children’s first and most important educators. We welcome families who would like to volunteer, share relevant expertise such as music, art or cooking, or help with fundraising.
