Nursery days include exploring, experimenting and plenty of messy activities, so choose clothes that are easy to wash and not too new.
Simple clothing that children can manage themselves supports toileting and helps them learn to put on and remove outdoor layers. Please avoid braces and all-in-one suits.
Bring a spare set
Keep spare clothes or uniform in a named bag on your child’s coat peg. Please clearly label every item to reduce lost property.
Dress for the day
- In hot weather, choose T-shirts that cover shoulders
- Bring a sun hat and apply sun protection cream
- Choose shoes or trainers that cover the whole foot
- Make sure footwear is easy for your child to put on and remove
- Avoid clothing with dangling laces that could catch on play equipment
- Choose washable layers suitable for the weather
